Shakira had a big night at the MTV Video Music Awards last week. The singer not only took home the award for Best Collaboration with Karol G, and the lifetime achievement Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, but also gave one of the best performances of the night with a medley that included her hits like “She Wolf” and “Hips Don’t Lie.”
Ahead of the event, Shakira also gave Instagram a look at how she gets ready for such a big event. She shared 10 photos of her practicing her dances, traveling to the awards venue in New Jersey, and arriving at the red carpet with her kids.

And while she looked spectacular in every shot, there is one outfit we can’t get out of our heads. While chatting with the creative director of the awards show, she wore some on-trend fall sneakers. They were black and gray platform Riot sneakers from the New York-based brand R13, from the pre-fall 2023 collection. To style them, she opted for flared jeans and a blue-gray T-shirt.
